    The idea, I think, is that the whole ipod is left in the compartment, out of view. Not practical for an iphone that you may want to check, but a good way to keep an old MP3 player in the car, charged and connected, without having it in the open. Hence why they have the other connection point...

Translation: "if you'd like to keep your handheld device handy so that you can play with it while driving, in violation of California state law (and many other state laws)." Look, I know your iPhone 5S has lots of functions that don't show up on the car's video display when you plug it in...the question is whether or not you should be using those functions while you're driving.

    All you need is a cheap flash drive load your music on to it plug it in the glove compartment and its done. You don't need to sync your phone or ipod or any of that extra stuff to get your music. If you want to organize your music then split it up into folders, if you want a particular order to your playlist then rename the tracks with numbers in the order that you want.--------------------------------------- Its a lot simpler then it sounds and its far cheaper and more reliable then any phone/ipod based solution.----------------------------------------------- Of course I doubt you guys would go this route just because its too easy and not hip and modern by everyone else standard.

    @hybris: Exactly right, a tiny 32GB USB drive is cheap and easy to buy these days, and the Corvette system works great with them. In addition to the usual MP3 and M4A music files, you can also save playlist files to the USB drive, and the Corvette syste
