    I live in Madison, WI. Last night during evening rush hour we had a quick moving store move through dropping 3 inches of snow in 3 hours. I was out running and saw a guy drive buy in a boxter...sure hope they were rocking winter tires.

    I was about to say maybe it was a 4s when I realized you said boxster not 911. I've seen a few 911 4s driving around on snow covered roads in NJ. I remember coming up behind the one guy going he's crazy having that out in the snow and then I saw the badging and changed my thoughts to 'good for him' a true DD sports car just like mine.

    Even with AWD you'll still need good winter tires. AWD doesn't help you stop any better.

    Here in SW FL, you could drive that Vette every day that same as in SC. Gotta love it, esp after spending 30 years in the dreary, rainy, snowy, and generally miserable weather in Pittsburgh.

    So you can drive 365 days a year in a car with a 7-speed manual, in LA's hellacious stop-and-go traffic. Sounds like paradise.

    @fordson1: I'm probably just a manual fanboy but as inconvenient as a clutch can be in some situations, I have always regretted not having a manual in the two automatic equipped cars that I have owned. I'll probably change my tune as I get older, but righ

    quadricycle, I have 2 cars, both WITH manuals, BECAUSE I don't have to put up with LA's traffic. And yeah, my nicer, newer car is tucked away for the winter.
