Here's the thing about every automotive journalist in the world: You all complain too much before giving anything any thought.
Don't praise one vehicle, like the CR-V, for things like it's lower price, slightly better FE, and larger cargo area before considering why it is better in those ways. For example, less sound insulation equals lower cost, lower weight, and therefore lower MPG. Fewer features, like the lack of an optional power hatch, also equals less pre-wiring leading to lower cost and lower weight, lower FE, etc. There is no magic here folks.
Why Edmunds bought this thing is beyond me. IMO it hasn't changed significantly since like 2005 so what is there to report that we don't know already? A little screen at the top of the dash you can put pictures of your dog on? What's next, a little vase for a flower? Oh wait, someone already beat them to that.
