We don't see a lot of inclement weather in our long-term 2012 Subaru Impreza, mostly because our offices are based in sunny Southern California. Hopefully a trip through the mountains will change that.

    Pretty drive up the east side of the Sierras. If you have time for a side trip to King's Canyon/Sequoia or Yosemite, do it.

    Unless I were squeezed for time I would take the PCH from Monterey to San Luis Obispo and then 101 to LA instead of taking 101 the entire way. Certainly at Edmunds you know that the PCH through the Central Coast is one of the finest scenic drives in the US.
