I just can't get on board with this Formula E idea. The number one concern with electric cars at the moment is range anxiety, and the spec cars in this series can only run for 25 minutes, and then they expect the drivers to spring, on foot, 100 meters to a second car to keep racing. For all of the progress Tesla has made in making electric cars feasible for extended driving, this formula is going to reverse it all and really scare people off electrics. And then these vague plans for hosting races in big cities next year without actually having anything set up...street races take tons of preparation, and even then with the exception of Long Beach, Monaco, and maybe Toronto they fail within maybe 3-4 years if they're lucky. This kinda feels a bit like that ill-fated City Challenge Baku race. Just find a place that wants you, nevermind the logistics or whether the fans or TV will be in place, and wonder why it fails.
