Why would anyone want to run their car through a car wash? CA may have "cleaner" car washes than the NE, but the thought of those dirty brushes and harsh chemicals attacking my paint gives me the shivers. You pay enough for your car why not treat it like it cost you $30K? In the Camaro's case double that. IMO
So having your black car washed outside, in the full sun, in Southern California, costs $25. Even in March, the surface temp on this car, sitting where that one is sitting, is probably north of 140 degrees. And then they hit it with 70 degree water. Wonderful.
My uncle bought this car... he was so proud and smug.... when he came over to show it off i called him an idiot.... should have bought the vette i said.... now that he's had the car for 6 months he agrees but wont say it lol.... he bought it cause he say's it'll be a collectors item.... my response was... and no vette in the last 75 years has ever been collected?!?!.... he's a bit salty now he impulse bought the car lol
zimtheinvader: Yeah, love those swirls on black paint. Sooooo Purrrty. Pakohotdogs: Couldn't agree with you more. I sometimes wonder how "enthusiastic" Edmunds staffare about the cars they have on loan/buy. I know it's not their car but cmon, If I had a job like that I'd be treating the car like my own. No doubt manufacturers like it when their cars are well-treated. Good PR I would think.
Cjsg35; too bad for your uncle, love mine, no regrets, no remorse. I have an affinity for Corvettes, however I feel Chevy has gone too far on European stylying on the Vette for my taste. One day I hope to own a vintage Vette, but for now I'll enjoy my Panther.
