Why not just put a hitch style bike rack on a sports car. More fun driving, easier bike access.

A trailer hitch on a Boxster, Miata, 458 Spider? Please. SUVs have their place.

Any real reason why not? SUVs have their place, but that's not toting 20lbs bicycles. Even in the CR-V he has to lay down a blanket, take off the front wheel, and prop it up in there. A bike rack would be far easier. Also, I've seen trailer hitches on Miatas, and not on a boxter but a 911. The 458 I'll give you.
