    Yup, that's the way it works with new cars. You'll get every dent and scratch imaginable in the first year which will give you heart attacks everytime, while your old 100k+ car avoids them.

    It's not that your 100k+ car avoids them, it's that new scrapes/dings/dents are not easily or immediately noticed. Just another crater on the moon.
