How effective is the factory auto-tinting, I wonder? Does it have a sunblock rating? I've noticed many Mercs have a sea-foam tint to their windows, which looked distinctive.

i think solar tinting is fairly common in expensive models from several brands. yellow, however, seems like sort of an off-putting color choice.

In the case of the mirror, it probably has some type of optical coating that reduces glare at night, but has a yellow cast in daytime.

Yellow provides better and more comfortable contrast for safety. Same reason they use yellow for legal pads.

Blue tinted mirrors are standard on BMWs, the choice of yellow seems... interesting.
