You should break out that decibel meter and see just how quiet the car is compared to some others. I don't think I've seen you guys take readings with that thing for a little while. I only say that because "This car is quiet" is such a subjective statement, and hard for internet readers to interpret since almost everybody has a different definition of an acceptably quiet car.
Agreed! You guys should do more of the comparison measurements. The ramp measurement last week was great (who'd guess this is better than the Juke?!) Decibels and some other interesting measurements would be really cool to compare.
Interesting because my CX-9 is not especially quite. The 3.7 is pretty composed but there's a good deal of road noise that makes its way into the cabin. Nice to see that Mazda is stepping up its game when it comes to noise.
I've actually found the doors that wrap around the sills on the CX-9 end up contributing to a lot of noise when the road is wet and when driving through puddles. I wonder if the CX-5 has any of this.
while dB ratings are another fun fact they can be deceiving as some sounds are more annoying and more wearing to listen to than others that are actually louder.
