    There are a lot of stakeholders here. GM potentially has a lot of money on the line, if they hid this information from their bankruptcy proceedings. The Obama administration could suffer yet another PR failure if they knew about it and did nothing; this includes the NHTSA. It could also potentially lead to criminal charges. And lastly, it is in the public's best interest to have the truth come out (good or bad) and have restitution be paid to the families of the victims. I'm interested to see how the opera plays out.
