    Looks like someone nailed you while backing up. Probably how the plate got damaged.

    ^agreed... looks like someone pushed the plate hard enough that the plastic compressed and the tabs popped out.

    Or that someone driving the car hit something with it, damaged the plate and popped the bumper cover/grill and now is not 'fessing up to it.

    This is weird, it almost looks like someone intentionally pulled our but couldn't pull it off? Did the dent on the corner of the license plate happen at the same time?
