The space between the wheel wells is definitely narrow. This is reminiscent of your departed TSX wagon where it was more glaring because of compromised utility of the wagon once the seats are folded. But in the ATS it looks like they're also sacrificing about 1 cubic foot in an attempt to disguise the fact that the trunk uses goose neck hinges.

Would've been nice if they didn't block off the space under the goose-neck trunk hinges. The 3 manages to leave a bit more space even with hiding the hinges.

You guys are ridiculous on the ATS. You make it out as worse than a 25 year old Cimarron. The ATS is great, but as usual, anything that's not a 3-Series or a 911 is crap in the eyes of an automotive reviewer. Change it up for once and say something positive about the ATS. Your year long write up is ... not useful commentary.

According to "Edmunds Cars", here are the actual numbers: Cadillac ATS--10.4 cubes, BMW3-- 13.0 cubes. Which means the 3 will have 2.6 more cubes, which means a box of 16X16X16. The A4 and C-Class both have a 12.4 trunk. Of course these numbers are from another branch of Edmunds, and if Monticello can't come near the right trunk sizes, perhaps Edmunds can't either. In any case, I use my eyesight to determine if a trunk is big enough. Also, I agree that Cadillac should not have boxed off the area below the hinges. Really dumb GM. Hmm... I wonder if they made the ATS with a trunk smaller than the Camaro's in order for people to think the ATS must be more sporty. What would you rather have: an ATS with a very, very small trunk with a 2.0 turbo, or a Camaro with a bigger trunk and a 300hp+ V6 or a 400hp+ V8?

With the ATS 2.0 being offered in a 6sp, I know what I'm getting. Plus with the Pfadt turbo kit, its a no brainer:

After test driving this Cadillac ATS & the BMW X3, I put my golf clubs in the ATS and they fit nicely! Cadillac's engine was equally responsive as the BMW, but Cadillac's color choices and more advanced technology tipped me over the edge to choice of the ATS! Can't wait to get it!
