    The biggest problem I've found with third-row seats is typically a lack of cushioning. Especially with the typical knees-angled-up sitting position, the hard thin seat bottom becomes uncomfortable long before the claustrophobia or lack of leg room are noticeable.

    And look at that: Air Vents. Nice comfort feature for those banished to the third row. My CX-9 has floor vents only for the 3rd row which I assume are linked to the floor vents in the rest of the car, likely to only come into play when heating, not for cooling.
