I took my first drive in our long-term 2013 Cadillac ATS, and I'm smitten with its chassis. Seriously, this car feels special, like a BMW 3 Series.

    Not to be a stickler, but the latest BMW 3er is the F30...the F10 is the latest 5. Easy fix.

    So the question becomes... if it acts like a BMW 3-series and is priced like a 3-series... then why not just buy the 3-series? That's the single most important question pertaining to the existence of this car.

    Who would have ever thought the consensus on a Cadillac would be "great chassis, weak engine"?

    Since BMW seems to be dialing back on driver involvement lately, the question may actually be "why not just buy the ATS?". BMW doesn't seem very serious about being the ultimate driving machine anymore. Journalist pressure and lost sales to an American rival may nudge them back.

    glad to hear your opinion. I was a bit disappointed that posts on the ATS were typically less frequent than one a week.
