    Except after you drive it into the mountains, there is all sorts of dirt and dust on the rear bumper, and if you sit on it to take your boots off, then it's on the backs of your pant legs and you're about to put it onto your driver's seat upholstery.

    @fordson: A towel is all it takes to fix that, and in the picture the bumper doesn't look all that dirty anyway. For anyone who regularly gets themselves dirty and sweaty, a decent set of seat covers goes a long way. Oh and some good floor mats too.

    The Honda Element had that setup nailed. But then again so did the 1970 Pontiac Bonneville station wagon (among others)
