WTH, 39 psi in the tyres? Surely that is some max load nonsense. Your testing also suggests the brakes are prone to fade. Bag that noise.

Bought my wife a 2013 GLI with the Autobahn and DSG love it so far. VW are asses about any kind of mods so I'm going to have to wait till warranty is up which sucks about the only thing that I can do is a boost gauge which should be standard in the GLI and GTI. For 2013 you can disable traction and also launch control is back overall the car has been trouble free and after 5k miles I'm finally getting use to the starting and stopping with the DSG. But the GLI is a way underrated car and is overlooked for some reason. People say cause they're expensive to get worked on EVERYTHING is expensive now days, it's not the parts today it's the SHOP LABOR no matter if it's a Kia, Honda, Porsche, or Chevrolet. But glad to see the GLI getting some much needed attention finally.

My brother-in-law traded in his 330i for the GLI, which he says is actually superior as an urban-sprawl runabout.

Coming up on 8 years since this engine emerged in the GTI and it's still rocking the same output ratings and barely any revisions.

    That's a long time VW.

Bought a 2012 new and could not be happier. Had the ECU tuned by APR for 500 bucks and now the same engine effortlessly produces 260 WHP and over 300 ft-lb of torque. Just a great, quick car that feels engaged and has enough room to be a family hauler.
