VW wants to sell more cars in America, they need to broaden the appeal of what they offer. Check the VW site in Germany and you'll drool over what we can't have here. Tiguan with the TDI. No brainer. Passat Alltrack wagon. My wife liked it better than the Audi Allroad, already one of the nicer wagons you can get here.

Even the Touran minivan looks much more appealing than the re-badged dodge we get here.

    Check it out. http://www.volkswagen.de/de.html

Oh, I'd love to see the Ranger brought over here. We need more compact and midsize pickups to keep Toyota honest on their Tacoma pricing.

One car I wish you'd included: Skoda Octavia vRS wagon. It's essentially a GTI with an extended cargo area. Or a Sportwagen with GTI performance bits. Either way its a combination we can't get here, even though we come frustratingly close.

We have a car derived from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta here in the US. It's the Dodge Dart. Fiat fooled you by slapping a bunch of Chrysler crud on it, didn't they? You gave it a "C".

I'm curious about VW Group's logic with holding back the Amarok from the US. Seems that compact pickups should be a good market segment to be in. Maybe they can't sell it at a price that would compete? Not surprised about their decision not to sell the A1 given the limp sales of the A3. Luxury subcompacts just aren't a market here yet.

The reason why VW doesnt sell the Amarok in the US is due to the "chicken tax".

Once again it seems the U.S. is missing out on some spectacular vehicles. Too bad the manufacturers continue to have such a myopic view of the U.S. consumers. Maybe we deserve it since people actually bought the Pontiac Aztec ;)

@texduc: what a stretch for a joke. The Aztek? That was eons ago and I don't know what America you lived in, but it most definitely did not sell well at all, and in case you missed it, Pontiac no longer exists do to a lot of reasons, but the Aztek was one

I would think the A1 could do well against the mini, especially if offered with all the interior customization options that are available in Europe. The Polo would probably be too expensive for VW to import and make a profit. I would love to see the 5-series wagon sold in the U.S. IMO, it is the best looking vehicle BMW makes .... far better looking than the 5-series GT POS. And what about some of the other great looking wagons, such as the Opel Insignia.

The M135i is pretty much the only car right now that I would actually get brand new from the dealership. I saw them in some of my overseas trips (recently to Hong Kong) and while it still looks stunted and funky in 1-series tradition, the fact that it's a 300hp, RWD hatchback is awesome.

Forget the RS-4... I would be happy if they brought the S4 Avante over, since that's the more practical premium car for most car enthusiasts.

Out of the Japanese contingent are more family friendlier cars that I wish we got: Toyota Auris (would be great as a matrix replacement) and the European Civic wagon (which is a great idea in general).

Ok. I've always liked the Gulietta. But, I guess I never saw it's face straight on before.

This is the most blatant case of female anatomy I've seen on a car. Look at the rounded lines in the hood (thigh tops?) The grill shape?

If we could come to some global USA and EU crash and pollution standards it would be a lot easier for a wider range of cars to end up over here. --- I don't think the extra hoops we make them jump through helps make them want to try a new model here to see how it does.

I would like to add the Mazda MAZDA6 Wagon and Subaru Legacy Wagon to this list!

It isn't that the manufacturers are being mean jerks and not bringing this stuff here just to annoy us. It is that they know Americans would rather have space-inefficient, fuel-inefficient, poor-handling, poor-riding SUVs rather than wagons for their utility needs, and for everything else they can't be bothered to look past the Camry and Corolla no matter how far behind the rest of the market those cars fall. We have no one to blame but our neighbors.

@hemi_426. Are you afraid that your man parts will shrivel if you are spotted driving a vehicle that looks less aggressive than a Stryker? Put you analyst on danger money. I see nothing effete about the VW pickup, just good functionality and some blandnes

From all the cars here, in Mexico we are fortunate enough to get the Diesel Amarok, the Polo GTI, the Audi A1, Alta Romeo Giulieta and the new Ford Ranger, it's quite a unique market here in Mexico, we get the chance to buy a lot of cars not offered in the rest of the Americas...

We have the Alfa. It's called a Dodge Dart. Lol!

The Scirroco is a pointless car. It's like the entire Mercury or GMC lineup next to the Ford and Chevy lines. There is absoluelt no point to it whatsoever.

That Land Rover seems pointless as well. If I want a car as unsafe as that, then I'd buy a Pagani Hyura, which is also not allowed here because they can't fangle how airbags work.

135- totally agree, and with the 5 wagon. A1? Sure! and I'd Love to see Alfa's here.
