    So when driving the car how often do you get asked, "What's an oil change run?"

    I get that with our BMW now and then from friends. Interestingly enough our BMW dealership just came out with an $80 "Value Line" oil change for e90 and e46 3-series. Cheaper than the independent shops.

    No more $200 oil changes!

    s197gt: Almost never. I'm not sure if it's because of the way LA operates, but this question has never come up. Lots of "Bet that'll be expensive when it breaks!" comments, but never just on the cost of an oil change. -mm
