    Good point, Fordson1. However, not everybody can afford more than one vehicle. I did the math on getting a small grocery getter to keep the miles off my Jag and to save using gas in my SUV. By the time I added in the extra insurance, Nevada's registration fees and expected maintenance, there was no saving, quite the reverse in fact.

    Also you save the tailgate getting dinged up from flying rocks and the cables/mounts from getting banged around when you go over a pothole. That's in addition to what you mentioned. Remember it not a truck if it doesn't have long bed. I have been saying this common fact for 6+ years on this site so you can't say I haven't foreseen this post. :)
