Don't laugh? Sounds funny to me. Also, among people who buy their firewood non-shrink-wrapped, it's not two words. Finally, this post sounds like an attempt to spin the lack of folding seats and an extra-cost cargo net as positives. My GTI has folding seats AND a pass-through (and it's a realistic-sized pass-through...not this little postage stamp). And it came with TWO cargo nets (one regular and one to hold stuff under the rear parcel shelf) at no extra charge. I guess for this type of vehicle, no folding seats could be spun as a good thing from an NVH standpoint, but dinging buyers $50 for a cargo net is just cheaping out.
The opening measures about 7.5" high and 7.25" wide.
Not sure how meaningful a comparison to a GLI is, but among its chief competitors, including the Azera, only the Avalon has just a pass-through, so while there might be some noise considerations, they don't seem to be insurmountable. As for the cargo net, GM also charges extra, even on top trips. I couldn't find any mention of a net for the Avalon, but an organizer lists for about the same money. Ford and Chrysler thrown one in, at least on top-trim models.
I also have to ask: was the net on the window sticker? It's shown as an accessory on the Kia site for the Premium when you build one, but the Limited doesn't show any options.
Do yourself a favor and just get half a cord dumped on your driveway from someone local. Easier and probably cheaper. I just walk out behind the house until I find a recently fallen tree, but that's obviously not possible when living in town.
