    Issues like this are a deal breaker for me. I shouldn't have to focus intently to drive a car smoothly. The brake and accelerator need to respond linearly and should be intuitive. Steering should be solid on center and not require endless correction at highway speeds. I really wanted to like the VW Passat when I was looking for a midsize sedan last summer, but I couldn't get over the non-linear response of the electronic throttle.

    @dm7279: I assume you test drove a model with the DSG? From what I hear the manual is much better in that department.

    Why do people act like they are some sort fixed programming robots?

    Touchy brakes can be adjusted to. Just because you aren't used to it doesn't mean you wouldn't given a few weeks.

    all three are also sold in Europe where they like strong brakes.

    our bmw's touchy brakes were weird at first and i love them now. the dust no so much...
