Dumb [non-permissible content removed] like this is why a majority of Americans would have preferred to see GM die in 2008...

I own a 2007 Pontiac G5. My husband complained about car shutting off while driving on freeway in June of 2013. Brought to dealer within 1 or 2 days of incident to have inspected. They removed after market car starter and alarm for $220.00. When I called dealership about recall today 2/15/14 they claim that there is no recall on my car and that I could wait to see if the recall shows up in their records. My other option is to contact GM to see if they will reimburse for the repair. GM was closed when I called due to east coast vs. west coast. Any advice?
