$495 off MSRP? Is that typical? It must be a hot car then as you know the dealers are getting at least a few grand from that on every sale

Agreed with kirkhilles. $495 off MSRP is less than 1.5%. Of course it was a nice shopping experience - the dealer was more than happy to sell the car with such a modest discount. I guess it's different when it's not your money.

I like the Designo Patagonia Red (and for $1500 not bad), but I see that its been dropped from the build feature on mbusa.

I hate to be superficial, but I'd have to get the sports package to simply get rid of those wimpy looking 17's. So, premium, multimedia & sport packages for me. But, then you're staring at $39k!! Not worth it...

Way to follow instructions. Last I checked, $35,000 was not UNDER $35,000. My boss would have chewed you out for this and probably said something like "Why didn't you offer $34,999?"

I'll be interested to follow this test. I am one of those who was extremely skeptical of this car from the beginning. MB traditionally does not build very good cars at the lower end. However, I don't really know what to think now that automotive sources are getting a chance to drive it. It seems to be extremely polarizing with some lambasting its terrible ride and excessive interior noise with others loving its peppy performance. It will be interesting to see which camp you guys (and me as well) lean towards over 12 months.

"Decent car... but not a true Mercedes."

There. I have seen the future, and can predict the inevitable verdict 12 months from now.

I liked the sports package and black for a color. Does anyone thing the sports package is worth it?

I'll forgive Edmunds for buying this goofy looking thing if they promise to obtain an A3/S3 sedan next year :D

i'm bummed that you can't get the multimedia package without the premium package. i think my dream setup would be multimedia package only and 4wd. i would really have to see the sport apearence side by side next to the standard aprearence but in the pictures it just doesent do it for me and i know i would just end up scraping the front spoiler on the sport apearence anyways and i really am tired of dealing with cars that scrape bad at stock ride hight.

why are people thinking the 17s are "tiny" or "whimpy" also go to a tire shop and look at how skinny the sidewalls on a 225-40-18 tire and imagine driving tens of thousands of miles on THAT. have you ever reddin in somone's car for about an hour or more and realized about 30 mins into it that no matter what you just can't seem to unclench you're sphincter? low profile tires that is why 90 percent of the time.

There was no actual check with his manager. The salesman stopped in the restroom, then came back and said OK. Good deal for them.
I'll take mine in Jupiter Red, sport package, and heated seats, if I'm the one paying. If someone else were paying, add the assist package and leather seats. At some price point it would just make sense to get a bigger Mercedes than load up a starter lie the CLA.

Bassrockerx, aesthetics -- the 17s simply "look" puny and don't fill the wheel wells enough for my tastes.

I used to work for Penske Automotive, now known as Penske Motor Group, a smaller group of dealers separate from Penske's main dealership group. I mostly worked at Longo Toyota, but was involved a little with the Mercedes dealer in West Covina. Company was fantastic to work for and I'm glad they're still upholding the quality we were held to back then.

Am I the only one who wasn't expecting them to get a huge chunk off of MSRP? This is a brand new model that just launched. Rarely do new model lines launch with huge discounts, and if they do you hear about it because that's a pretty bad sign.

CLA...250. Yuck. I mean the C(heap)-class is already one thing but I guess since they finally made that car unterrible, they can slot in a new car underneath. It just seems underwhelming in anything except AMG trim, and the base car doesn't really offer a good argument over your typical mainstream sedan. Maybe you just really need to have that MB badge.
