I got my 2013 Escape 11/30 to find out Ford recalled this model!
I thought this was illegal! I guess my Ford dealer in Inverness,FL is laughing at me now.

I bought an Escape - 1.6L - the week after thanksgiving (2012) and have had it for only 2 weeks since then. The recall for the potential overheating problem required me to give up the car and wait for the fix - for which ford didn't even have a solution when they issued the recall. I can only hope that the fix doesn't result in poor performance resulting from reprogramming of the vehicle to keep it from getting hot. If the car comes back from ford with different performance than the car I test drove, and bought, I will investigate my options for what actions I may be able to take to get a replacement car - maybe a 2.0L without the problems.

Beware: Georgia Lemon Law is good for 2 years. That means the dealer will have no problem pretending to fix your car for the first 2 years. I lost almost 5 Grand on a Ford Focus 2012 (recalls and safety issues including only reaching maximum speed of 45 mph on the highway... So scary I had to get rid of the car). The dealer had reprogrammed it several times but was never able to fix the problem... and started to charge me $105 every time I went to fix it. Now, I am stuck with this Escape 2013 which its radio panel freezes when is below 30 F., but dealer did nothing to fix it, so now when is really cold won't work ... Also, the car has a bunch of other recalls. Why don't we have a manufacture/ safety class action lawsuit nationwide so Ford stops making junk and embarrassing products that hurt the American Car industry and our economy,
    Broke, Ford buyer
