Um, what enthusiasts fear utes and wagons would dilute the SS? Enthusiasts are generally known to love utes and wagons. Where did that conclusion come from?

For that matter, where did this article come from? The headline mentions an SUV, but there's nothing about that at all in the article.

And where is this speculation, who is speculating, and why? The Commodore has had wagon and ute versions for a long time. Nothing has changed there. And GM is saying they won't come here, just like they didn't come here when the Commodore was rebadged as the G8. There is no story here.

    This is all rather strange.

The Wagon would make a GREAT Buick "Roadmaster"!

    >The VF Commodore is the Holden version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS<

No, that's wrong. The SS is Chevrolet's version of the Holden Commodore. Designed and built in Australia, exported to the US. (Though admittedly with an American engine and some of the electronics)

The strong Aussie dollar will probably make the ute and wagon too expensive for American buyers, but you're getting the sedan at a significant discount over what we will be paying here in Australia.

@stovt001; I can see enthusiasts concerns of another overweight bad handling SUV, but a wagon, it's bound to handle a hell of lot better than those elevated top-heavy shoe boxes on wheels.
