Tesla keeps adding Superchargers at a steady pace. There are 94 of them as of today, some 40 more than there were on New Year's Day.

Oops. Nixon's western White House was in San Clemente, one town over.

Thanks for the update, but some explanation as to why there has been almost 6 weeks of silence on this car would be helpful. Also, why are you going so far past the 1 year mark and the 20,000 mile mark? I'm glad you are doing this (and I recall someone suggesting it here), but a hint about the plan would be nice.

I agree with gslippy - if there was ever a car that demanded frequent updates, its the Tesla.

I do wonder what will happen in the future with the supercharges. What happens as sales continue to climb and the ratio of # of chargers per owner decreases rapidly? I wonder if there will be a period when you can't access a charger during the day (or god forbid a popular travel holiday) without an hour+ wait. It'll be like Disney with 2 hour waits.

Yes, it will be just like Disney. Doomed forever. Those people are being charged an arm and a leg by Disney and the rates go up every year. Season Passes are being eliminated because they don't need locals to support them anymore. Lines are long and wait times are longer. Yet profits and demand have never been higher. I wonder who that sounds like. I wonder, said Rodriguez.

The Supercharger question is a good one. On the trips I've taken I've always seen one other car, perhaps two, even on my Christmas/NewYear's trip. The only exception was Interstate 5's Harris Ranch, which had four other cars. Jay came out of a meal stop there to unplug and saw all the stalls full. This one is a choke point between San Francisco and LA, but since then Tesla has opened up another largely parallel Supercharger route on highway 101, and that took a lot of pressure off. Most stations I've been to have room to expand. I've seen 4-station S/Cs expand to 8 stations. Most new ones are 6-stations unless its a rural area. They've also upgraded 90kW chargers to 120 kW charger, which reduces charge time. They seem to be expanding with demand and sales, but I'm not sure how things will look in the future.

It would be really great if the Edmunds staff would stop ignoring the repeated questions about where the Tesla updates have been for the last 6 weeks. I see the question repeated even throughout the other car reviews because there is no place else to ask the question.

It's interesting that the two Superchargers in New Mexico are in the Navajo Reservation -- yet nothing at the moment in Albuquerque/I-40 or Santa Fe/I-25.
