So this is the first drive of the E550?
Well the white Mercedes driven by the pretty girl is badged "E500" and the white Mercedes parked at the dock is an E400.
Don't you think someone should have explained that?

If I remember correctly, a past Edmunds news article stated that the E550 was dead. It would only be used until the full redesign at which point it would be replaced by the TTV6 E400. I remember because my reactions was "Booo..." If you want a big V8 you need to step up to an AMG. I think Mercedes has actually stated to they will hold AMG true, but everything else will be downsized in the name of fuel economy.

The vehicles in the pics are European versions, you can tell because of the euro style license plate. The U.S. E550 is called E500 in Europe. In regards to the Edmunds article a few weeks back, I do recall it saying for the 2015 model year the E400 was replacing the E550 but only for sedan models as the coupe and convertible were going to still offer the V8 because they don't offer an AMG version for the coupe and convertible. Things could change by the time the 2015 model year comes out.
