I love the new interior... Especially that huge screen!

Wow, that screen is huge. Designers did a great job of integrating it in to the flow of the dashboard. It looks like most of the controls have been folded in to the screen as there are very few buttons, switches, or knobs left on the dash. That gives it a really classic look that blends the best of vintage and modern styles. But it remains to be seen whether eliminating so many direct controls will make it a headache to do otherwise simple things such as tune the radio and adjust the temperature.

exterior style is fairly conservative and underwhelming (probably how S-class buyers like it), but the interior looks to be a cut above the competition, which will help justify the sure to be enormous price.

What a phenomenal update to a still-strong model. The styling is bold, yet elegant, with the perfect balance of low-profile luxury and in-your-face bling. Luxury hotels couldn't look better than that interior, HOWEVER, I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the spherical shapes in the interior. This is nitpicking, but I wish the front door-panel tweeters didn't have a see-through covering and the balance probably would be better. But, again, that's just nitpicking. EASILY would choose this over the A8/S8, 7, LS, XJ, etc.

WOW What a major disappointment, it is becoming more and more clear that Audi is taking over the German car industry.

What is the purpose of "brake energy recuperation" on a pure internal combustion engine powered vehicle?

@bankerdanny: Usually, the charge goes straight to the battery to diminish the pull of the alternator, which will help fuel economy. I've heard of these kind of system also being used to supplement climate control and air conditioning.

What a terrible interior. Just awful. They tried hard and managed to beat the Jag XJ, congrats. The gauge cluster is an LCD screen, I presume? Also, the GrandMarquis/CrownVic called, they want their steering wheel back.

WHAT is that steering wheel?! It reminds me of my 1999 Saturn.
