You could go into infomercial acting with those pretend clumsiness skills.

Dan, did your folks yell at you for slamming doors when you were little? Swinging things rather than maneuvering them by hand is a habit of which I was broken at a young age. Again I am reminded of the Jetta start button video. Find out how the trunk works and operate it accordingly. [Clarkson voice] I mean, how hard can it be? [/Clarkson voice]

It was entertaining and it probably should be sprung to where it wants to stay open a bit more than that.

Ever so slightly entertaining, but definitely a small nuance you would get used to as the owner of the car.

I hope this was intended to be firmly tongue-in-cheek. Otherwise, it has demonstrated a problem that no one will ever have. Now, what would be interesting is to see the car parked on an incline, with the trunk properly operated and lifted fully open, to see if it stays up or falls back down without help.

That was funny, definitely ended my work day on a fun note. Watching it with the sound off was the best, it was like an old pre-talkie slapstick comedy.

I remember when automobile trunk lids - even on Chryslers - weren't made of tin foil. Those were the days...

And the back seat wasn't available for cargo duty because why?

You were just doing that on purpose. Simply lift up the lid, see that it is stationary, and insert dog food into trunk. But no, you have to do it like a weasel. You just did that on purpose to look stupid, and you succeeded.
