"Germany's Tilke Engineering has designed the facilities, which should give enthusiasts high expectations. The firm has also designed several Formula One tracks around the world, including the Bahrain International Circuit and the newly finished Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas." Except for COTA, Tilke tracks are generally regarded by race fans as dull, flat, unimaginative, sterile, safe, and not very racy. I hope COTA marked a change in the company's design philosophy rather than being the exception to the rule.
