    Funny enough, even in spite of enthusiasts bitching about the lack of available wagons, that's exactly the niche that compact (and very soon, subcompact) CUVs fill. Then you have cars like the X1, which ARE wagons (jacked up Forester style) but are marketed as CUVs.
