    On most California highways you cannot hear yourself think. Seriously though, that does seem to be a major fail on their part.

    Kelly- You are NOT alone. I think there is something wrong with the stereo in the new Fortes. Not only the navigation, but the UVO ones at least. Mine does not get loud in ANY mode other than the AM/FM radio. That is the ONLY mode my stereo sounds decent/normal in. I am not deaf either. Other new owners are complaining about this on forums as well. It stinks that the car has such a nice stereo let down by poor sound output. I am hoping this a fluke that Kia will correct..... SOONER than later. The Hyundai Elantra (the Forte's sister car) has the same radio output (172 watts) but sounds worlds better.
