    As a gear head I hate the notion of autonomous cars, period.

    26% said that they would text their friends, just as if they were driving... I see so many people with their heads down when driving that it frankly makes me scared to get on the road. Other than that, I welcome self-driving cars! As long as you are not forced to give up driving yourself if you want to. I think that it will actually make roads safer, but then again so would better driver education. That's not a "technology will save us" approach though, so not many care.
