    I still don't really see a need for systems like this if you are a decent attentive driver, although of course we build things for the lowest common denominator and not the average or even heaven forbid set a reasonable standard.

    I look forward to when these are STANDARD across all vehicles instead of only being an option on high end luxury vehicles. Don't forget that it also benefits you if the guy behind you has it - getting rear ended isn't fun no matter whose fault it is.

    @mercedesfan, The thing that's wrong with it is that it coaxes people who shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel into an even deeper level of complacency and detachment, so that when the system fails, they have no ability to cope.
