I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 with the 5.7 engine and it does the same thing. You will need to replace the fuel tank and possibly the charcoal canister. There is a fuel control valve on top of the fuel tank (only serviced with the tank). when it fails, it allows raw liquid fuel to enter the EVAP system. a short time after start up, the PCM actuates the purge solenoid to purge the vapors from the canister. since there is raw fuel in the canister and lines, the result is an overly rich mixture that floods the engine.

I have a 2006 Dodge Challenger R/T which has quit running on the Interstate on a regular basis. Research shows that the fuel tank system is defective. My husband is in disability because of cancer, and we cannot spend $1,200 to have the car repaired when it should be recalled! If I am involved in an accident because of this....I will own Chrysler Corp and divide the proceeds with other owners who have been injured because of the manufacturer's neglect.

I can't beleive the NHTSA has not approach this issue. I bought a dodge charger 3 week's ago and it doe's the samething. This is a default and dodge know's this. Sound's like lawsuit time. This is a danger.
