    even though it was a trip that could have been done in the focus st you still took the sante fe (technically) off-roading none-the-less... so kudos!

    there is another site out there that actually takes their crossover awd press cars off road near denver on a progressively tougher trail and it seems the issue is rarely traction (awd, 4X4, tires, etc) but clearance. the rocks get too big and they don't want to pay for a new oil pan or rocker panel.

    @s197gt: That makes sense, but it depends on the trail and weather conditions. If it rains you'll probably see big problems with traction with those tires. Either way I still think articles like this one prove that you don't need a pickup based SUV for so
