    Did I miss part two?

Is there a consensus among the Edmunds staff on the suitability of the Focus ST for Daily Driver/Commuter duties? I drive a 2010 Mazda MX5 right now, so I figure it has to be more comfortable than that... I also like to take long road trips and hope the ST would be suitable.

I've really enjoyed the updates from this trip, because when I consider what car I might replace my Miata with, one criteria I pose is "What would be fun to take on a trip to Yosemite". So I guess I can give maximum points to the ST there.

"The Recaro sport seats aren't unbearably uncomfortable, but on a flat stretch of road, the aggressive bolstering becomes intrusive and bothersome."

I have a Focus ST3. I'm 5'10", 205 lb, and I agree the seats can get a bit tight for long trips (locally they're fine). I've solved that by keeping a small piece of foam cushioning in the car, about 1.5 inches thick, cut to the size of the seat bottom. This serves as a booster seat if I need it, raising my butt enough so the side bolsters aren't so intrusive. Problem solved.
