You totally missed the obvious. The fan speed is represented by the segments surrounding the climate icon on the middle bottom of the screen. It's always there on my Dart when the fan is on. You don't need to turn the fan on to see what speed it is at. When you press the climate icon you also can adjust the temp on the screen using a slider. Maybe someone who can do a fair unbiased review should continue with the long term test. Do you have some issue with Chrysler or something? Or is some other company paying you to hate the car?
I think you need to look at the screen again... the circular image around the icon of the person indicates fan speed, as well as current mode (floor, bi-lev, dash, etc.).... Just drove one today...
