Are the back seats in the Porsche 911 usable for anything other than collecting junk?

Those rear seats make a HUGE difference for those of us with small children. It is the difference between enjoying your car with your kids and not. As a parent, that's all you need to know.

I agree with all the points made by Ed and cjasis. I've owned a pair of "2+2" seat convertibles and would think long and hard before buying a strictly 2-seater. Even though I don't have kids, that back seat is too useful for storage and the occasional extra passenger. I've even gone camping with my wife in our convertible, using rear seat to hold sleeping bags and a cooler that wouldn't fit in the trunk.

I think when selling the idea of me buying a sports car to my wife those rear seats are going to be key.

I use my 997 as a daily driver. My two dogs, one 50lbs, one 35lbs, ride in the backseat almost daily (with the seat cushions removed). Do the seat bottoms still come out as they did in the 997?
