Maybe its roomy but the tiny rear windows make it look claustrophobic!

I have a friend with a new Corolla and its backseats have a rigid horizontal bar that pushes against your upper back. It's very uncomfortable. I'd pick the Mazda.

Wait a minute, the models with cloth seats have hard rear door armrests (as do some of the similarly-trimmed competitors) but the models with vinyl seats, or leather like the test car should have padded vinyl armrests. Or is it just a dissent on the sufficiency of plushness?

Putting a 6 foot passenger behind a 5-foot-10 driver is nothing to brag about these days, nearly every 4-door on the road can do that. A Yaris can do that. The last 3 could too.

The best way to determine if "you're really not asked to sacrifice much to enjoy the car's sporty and fun demeanor"? Rear facing car seats behind a 6-foot driver. I guarantee it will not be fun in this car.
