FTP Sensor P0452 - '02 Ford Escape

I'm getting a p0452 fault on my 2002 Escape 3.0 V6 2WD. From what I've read, that seems to indicate low FTP signal below .22v. As I thought I understood it, the FTP sensor has 5 v applied, and the output voltage from the FTP to the ECU goes down as tank static pressure increases. Conversely, I had read that the voltage from the FTP to the ECU goes up as tank static pressure decreased (for the vacuum leak test measurement). Now, I read elsewhere, just the opposite (voltage out of the FTP increases with pressure increase and visa versa). Anyone know which, for sure?

I read that the approximate voltage at atmosphere (engine not running, vent valve open, etc) is about 2.5 v. Considering that, I'm guessing the "less than .22v minimum" signal back to the ECU might look more like either the signal wire shorted to the frame somewhere or the signal wire open (maybe corrosion in the connector).... Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know where the FTP sensor is located on the Escape and how to access it?

Thanks,
Dave
