700 miles in one tank in a half ton pick-up is pretty crazy. I'm still kind of hoping you guys find a way to crack 30mpg. Seems unlikely though.

That is solid real world mileage...all with a ton of real world capability i.e. 9,000 lb+ towing. I'd actually like to get one but just too pricey to bring it up to the equipment level I need/want. This thing gets over $50k pretty quick and does not have the mammoth discounts you get on most gasoline full size pickups...

I don't know about you guys but here in North GA, Diesel is now just about $1 more per gallon making it about 40%+ more expensive per gallon. That would be pretty upsetting for your daily driver. Your co-workers are talking about $2.37 a gallon (for us currently) and how its going to drop below the $2s and you're stuck paying $3.25 a gallon for Diesel. That would be a deal breaker for me, even if the numbers wind up working out in the end. Too tough psychologically.
