Brake Pad Question - FWD 2009 Sienna

1)Anyone know what the original thickness measurement was from the factory for
the 2009 Toyota Sienna FWD ? I was told that the front pads were 11mm and the rear pads were 8mm
when the car came from the factory.
2) I was also told that I had about 3mm remaining on the front brakes, and that the sensor alarm would not go off until about 2mm remaining. If 2mm is remaining, am I doing any damage to the brakes or rotors ? The car has about 45K miles, and it is probably time for some new pads.
