CR-V Steering is "Clunky"

I was driving my daughter's 2007 CRV and it seemed like the steering was not responding like is should. It was like there was play in the steering. Like it didn't start to turn when first turning the wheel. Just for a split second then it seemed to catch up.

It didn't matter which direction I was turning. She lives 700 miles away so I can't do any more "testing".

Has anybody heard of a similar problem?

    Nothing I've ever heard of but, SERIOUSLY instead of guessing I would have the dealer or a capable shop take a look at it.
