Questions with Tire Installation for Camry

Hi,guys! Just have new tires installed for my Camry. Driving experience seems as normal as before. However, I remember that for the old set of tires, the rim of each
wheel was almost covered by the tire so that it was barely seen from the outside. But this time after a new set of tires is installed, I notice that I can clearly see the rim of the wheel. Does it indicate the tires were not properly mounted? Or It is just OK. Not much experience in this. Please kindly help if you can. Thanks!

No worries. You either bought a different brand of tire, or a newer model of tire. Either way, the condition you describe is nothing to be concerned about.

Rhinestonefuse, thanks you for your info. Indeed this new set of tires I bought this time is a different brand from the old one.

Your old set of tires probably had a rim protection flap or whatever they call it built into them. Different manufacturers try to prevent curb rash in different ways. I had a set of Goodyears that overlapped the outside of the rim, while my Michelins just have some extra rubber sticking out next to the rim. It's more of an issue on cars with low profile tires, so I wouldn't worry about it much on a Camry.
