Bumper bosses
Hello, I've noticed on some late model cars, like Camrys and Jettas, that the front bumper has two protrusions/bumps/bosses spaced about 2-1/2 feet apart along the chin. Seems they are there for a reason, but I'm clueless. Anybody have any idea what they're for? Thanks!

Excellent observation.
To make the vehicle look ugly is the number one reason.
2nd and a more educated guess would be so there bumper does not get dinged up. I hate seeing those ugly things hanging on the front or off the back of vehicles. I say to myself this is the person who is going to bang into my nice UN dinged bumper. I say if you get caught with a ugly bag on your car your license should be revoked.
