We just hit 5,000 miles in our long-term 2014 Mini Cooper. It is by far the best base model in the three generations of the modern Mini Cooper, but with our long-term car's $33K price tag, it's commands near-luxury money.

    I understand using the as-tested price as a reference for noise standards, but really you need to consider the far lower base price.

    The 16" run-flats that I have, make for a much quieter, cushier ride, I suspect. This MINI is far quieter, and far, far more resistant to rough roads than my 2005 Cooper was!
