Black line in rear view mirror

I have pronounced black lines in the rearview mirror. They are a distraction while driving. The dealer and Lexus said there is nothing they can do. Replacement cost is $1,400.00. In all the years I have been driving I have never had a rearview mirror go bad.

I'm always stunned at the cost of Lexus parts/accessories. Looking up an OEM replacement mirror, the part alone is $650 + depending on where I'm looking. Some much cheaper aftermarket replacements are out there. I'm sure there are many places to find them, here's one of them
