I am getting an error code p0420 Bank 1 on my honda crv and have a few questions about it.
1. I know that it is related to catalytic converter, but does that error code mean it is a specific cat or is that just referring to the cats in general if I have more than one?
2. How do I know if I have more than one?
3. Where can I find specific instructions to replace it?

Only the upstream catalyst is tested, the downstream one is not. Catalytic convertors have an eight year eighty thousand mile emissions warranty, so if you happen to be under that the dealer should handle this for you. As far as needing instructions, they are relatively simple. The heat shields need to be removed to access the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the head. You likely need to heat the bolts at go from the exhaust pipe to the bottom of the convertor and you should plan on replacing the air/fuel sensor in the manifold because it is unlikely to survive being removed and re-installed.

Make sure you either get an O.E. catalyst of a CARB certified OBDII one. If a catalyst is noted as not being for sale in California, it isn't the one that you want to install.
